93 Speedo settings in TunerCat
93 Speedo settings in TunerCat...VE relationship
Hello all, I now have everything needed to start burning chips for my 93 and my first job is going to be getting my speedo to read correctly. My setup is using the Pocket Programmer from Xtronics with C.A.T.S. tuning software and DataMaster for logging. I also picked up an adapter from moates.net to allow the use of EEPROMS to keep from having to use a UV eraser and to hopefully get longer lifespan from the chips
Currently, I am running a chip from MustGoFaster which is no longer in business. I have pulled the .bin from the chip and am able to read the settings. When I ordered the chip I specified a 3.23 gear Right now the Road Speed Constant is set to 23631 and the Instrument Panel VSS Pulse Divisor is 128. I'm hoping someone can either point me to some sort of reference or tell me the setting required for a 3.42 gear (M29 tranny). I understand that I can play with the setting and pace myself with another vehicle but I'm really looking for a good starting point to get me close.
Also, just read a thread about VE Master for the 93's and am very interested but it seems that much of this is based on vehicle speed. Is it safe to say that VE Master would not do me any good until I get the speedo issues worked out?
Thanks in advance for any advice you can provide and BIG thanks to TJWONG for getting me headed in the right direction.
