93 Lt1 Pcm
93 Lt1 Pcm
I was wondering if 93 LT1 owners can use LT1 edit or TunerCat on their PCM? If not, how could 1 replace the PCM with a newer one from a junked car. I plan on building a heavier modded engine and I'd like to be able to use these PCM editing programs to tune my engine.
NO..., the '93 are all unto themselfs.
They are ECM's with proms & are bank fire injection.
The 94's & up are eprom PCM's with sequntial injection .
The wiring harness for each are totally differant.

This has been covered a couple of times but I can go through it again...
You can still get TunerCat you just need the DA3 definition file.
Then you need an eprom adapter like shown here: http://moates.net/gmecm/hardware.html
You can also get a couple of Amtel 29C256 chips from Craig too. These eliminate the need for a UV eraser and can be reprogrammed many times without a problem.
Then you need an actual eprom programmer. Check out The Pocket Programmer at http://www.xtronics.com/memory/EPROM.htm
That should be it. Of course you'll need a datalogger too. I'd recommend Datamaster as I have had great luck with it.
Any other questions, let me know.

Well, you can use the hex editor that comes with the pocket programmer but I'm not sure you'd have too much fun doing that.
Yes, you need TunerCat. I don't think there is anyway around it. And yes, all that stuff is needed.
You must have an adapter/board that allows you to plug your new chip into the stock computer. Then you have to have the actual chip you're putting on that adapter. That chip contains your program information. Then you must have an actual bin file editing program that allows you to make changes to your file. Then the programmer burns your new bin fle to the chip.
I would have told you that you needed it if you really didn't.
