93 computer upgrade

I want to up grade to a 94+ computer(from a 93) b/c i am building a supercharged motor, and pcm 4 less is within driving distance to tune. from what I gather it is way easier to tune. I am trying to get all the parts together before I start taking apart my baby.

Is its cost effective to do this swap?
If so, what will I need to buy other than the chip and wiring harness.

I have a 1993 formula A4 stock.
P600b setup
Flowmaster 3in catback
Racetronix (Walbro) Pump and wiring harness
42lb Summit injectors.
Going to buy forged internals asap
Looking for 400rwhp.
Trying to do it right.

Any suggestions would help.

To run a 94 or 95 PCM, with MAF sensor and full sequential injection, you have to add the MAF sensor (although it is possible to program the 94+ to run speed-density) You will need a 94+ harness that incorporates the MAF wiring and the individual wires for each injector. There is a difference on the IAC motor harness connector IIRC. Your 94+ PCM will be looking for the electronic controls for a 4L60E, which you don't have. Interfaces need to be progammed out. The 93 runs the tach off the coil, and the 94+ runs it off the PCM. You would have to keep your 93 tach wiring. There may be something screwy with the VSS wiring as well.

You mention buying a "chip and a harness".... no removable chip in a 94+, just an ECU (PCM).

It would be a lot cheaper to keep the 93 ECM, ditch the S/C and just run a good set of heads and cam to achieve 400rwHP. Why complicate life with the S/C, if that is all the HP you are after?

Didn't mean to suggest you were a "NOOB". I was simply pointing out the 94 and newer PCM will be looking for the electronic control interfaces of the 4L60E, or for the T56.
