4L60E trans table experts inside please

OK, if anyone can give me some pointers on the 4L60E trans tables, I'd really appreciate it. Not the basic junk like how to modify them but the real stuff. Here is what I am needing to know:

What is max safe line pressure in a 4L60E?? I know GM has it set way low but is there a base pressure in there and this is just an adder?? For instance, the 0-64 main pressure table shows a max of 90 psi. Is this added to a base value that we don't see like maybe 50 or so??

Is there any way I am breaking these parts due to too much line pressure??? So far I have broken the front planet and now I think the input sprag.

Does any one have some tried and true trans tables for somewhat quick cars?? 11-12 second region?

I love my 4L60E since I can tune everything perfect and just leave it in drive and go. However, if I can't make this thing live, I'll be getting a 6 speed and cryo'ing the whole inside to make it hold a little better.

well I wish that someone had great tables for these trans- IF someone has them they are not telling. But I will tell you what I did to mine, and it seems to work great. I also have a TransGo 2 washer shiftKit in mine. I took completely stock tables (0-64 and 64-128) and increased the the presure by 15% accross the board. That worked great!! I left All the modifier tables alone! The "Normal Mode Up/Down Shift Points" Table has to be ajusted to your gears and is trial and error. I have found that with my TransGo that is all I need to do. I know that wasn't very helpfull, but it is what I did and it worked well for me. You might try contacting a Performance Trans shop- specializing in our tranny and see what they suggest. I search this board and put posts out but did not find anyone with bullet prouf tables. Good Luck.

Almost forgot- 120 max line presure in ECM constants table!!!

Yep, those guys got it right. Max which can not be exceeded is set in ECM table. There are modifier tables but why mess with them. Only real tables are the big ones (forget their names, it;s late). Don't bother with the low range areas, and downshifts, leave them at 0 so it keeps it easy on the tranny.

Have a look at my transmission, its held up for a year, and just tons of abuse.

http://members.shaw.ca/mackenzl/LWMs...on%2009,02.LT1

I'll be boosting the tables from 90 to 100, (10%) or so at any values past 1/2 throttle next year to see if that makes a difference.

Right now all I have done is to make it grab a little harder with the temp table, a bit more aggressive in the part throttle shift pressures and I raised the TC apply quite a bit.

The rest of the transmission rebuild is on my web page.

Hope this helps

LWM Dude you spent 16,596.43 US dollars to go an altitude corrected 12.52? What do you do for a living?

FWIW I got a better time this summer 12.65 @ 109.75mph

Correction factors obtained from this board for Calgary are
Time .9588
Speed 1.0437

Gets you to an altitude corrected 12.13@ 114.54mph ... about what one would expect given my cars level of modification.

$16,596.43 USD .... well finally someone out there did the math ...

You do have to realize that it was done over a period of 4 years, and not all of the cash went into making the car go fast in a straight line ... though most of it did ... sigh. I had almost all of the mechanical work done at the local speed shop ... so if a person was into saving money ... you could cut a few thousand off there, but I'd only recommend that to a qualified person.

My car is also 100% reliable and drives very well, it is IMO a very nice car for the money.

Things just seem to cost a lot up here in the frozen north.

Just wait till you see how much the 383 build up is going to cost, so far I have $6,200 USD worth of parts sitting on the basement floor ... the R and R and associated machine shop work and dyno time I'm sure will end up costing $3,000 USD ... I'm starting to make myself a bit nervous ...

So, if you know of a way to get this go fast stuff done on the cheap ... tell me about it.

Being a Walmart security guard does have its moments ...

Have a good one
