383 STROKER<SPARK ADVANCE AT IDLE>?
Re: 383 STROKER<SPARK ADVANCE AT IDLE>?
What did he program it for? Did you ask? What cam are you running.... that would affect the idle spark advance? And what is the target idle speed?
Not sure why this is on Advanced Tech.

Well it was programmed for everthing i insatlled on the car,Im running a hot cam on Forged stroker, cai, heads port and polished ,1:6rr's,shortie headers, high flow cat, cutout, power pullies,2800 stall, shift kit,3:73's,255lph pump,no adjustable regulator or injectors yet.Oh by the way im not sure what the target idle is at right now dont have car here.Just wanting to make sure i am geting all the horsepower i should.would dyno tune be able to pull out some more ponies.
Re: 383 STROKER<SPARK ADVANCE AT IDLE>?
my suggestion with a hot cam would be 34 degrees of advance starting at 4000rpm and falling off to about 30 degrees of advance at 7000 rpm
Idle about 36 degrees
Idle about 36 degrees

Re: 383 STROKER<SPARK ADVANCE AT IDLE>?
He's looking for advance at idle, for some reason. Anything from 10 to 20-degrees will work. Just depends where you see the greatest vacuum with that particular cam.
Re: 383 STROKER<SPARK ADVANCE AT IDLE>?
36* at idle may be a bit too much for a 383 with a hotcam, the fact that you ahve more cubes would mean you don't need as much advance, I would say about 24* at idle is a good start, see how you like it there, that advance would be good for a 350 with a hotcam, with a 383 it should be more then enough.
