1994 vs 1995 Connector?
1994 vs 1995 Connector?
A friend of mine has a 1994 Formula M6, and I have a 1995 Formula A4. I heard that the 1995 has OBD-I but the OBD-II connector, is this true?
Or can we use the same cable to program our cars?

Re: 1994 vs 1995 Connector?
The connector changed from a 12 or 14 point.. cant remember exactly.. to a 16 point in 1995. The computer however is exactly the same as your friends. The cable WILL work but the connector will not fit. Some guys have been able to craft small jumper cables to make the older style ALDL connector work with the newer style like yours to successfuly tune cars. Either try doing a search for pics or an explaination or PM shoebox because I know for a fact he has the pics to clear things up for you. You may also want to visit shoebox's webpage for pictures of the ALDL connectors that way you know which point is for the power, ground and data. Hope that makes sense.
Re: 1994 vs 1995 Connector?
I have a 94 and my friend has a 95 so I ordered a cable from mastach.com, it just has 4 pins that you insert into the connector so we can switch between the two cars very easily, thats what I would recommend.
