Exclamation 02 sensor and/or O2 simulator?

SES light has been on for the past couple days and I finally went to AutoZone to get it checked. Seems my Bank 1 sensor 2 is bad. Should I just replace the sensor, should I get and O2 simulator, or should I do both to keep this from happening again? I'm planning on going to Summit Racing today to buy whatever I need, so please help me soon. Check my signature for my mods (to help with what I should do). Thank you in advance.

Exactly what code did you get? Gutted cats will set codes for insufficient catalyst activity. How long have you been running with no cats and the stock after-cat O2 sensors?

Replacing a stock sensor on a car without cats isn't going to solve anything. You need sims... I can't understand why both sides aren't showing a code.

I've been running the gutted cats and stock sensors for about 9 months, I'd say. But, I live in Ohio and didn't drive it all winter (for what it's worth). The SES light first came on about a month ago, then a week ago, and just recently a couple days ago. Each time it comes on, it only stays on for about a day or so. I believe the code that came up was "0137" if I'm not mistaken. The guy looked it up and that's when it said Bank 1 sensor 2. I did go ahead and buy a pair of Casper Electronics O2 simulators. I'm waiting to put them on, however. Do I need reset the computer somehow to "delete" the previous trouble codes? ...or should I just install the sims and everything will ok?

P0137 is low voltage on the bank 1 after-cat sensor. Probably is a faulty sensor. However, I wouldn't replace it with another sensor. I would use sims in both sides for the after-cat sensors. I can't figure out why you haven't got a code for the missing cats, but the sims will insure you never get them.
