1999 model, LS1. Any way to quickly get the code of what's wrong and link to a chart of what the codes mean? On the old GM cars you used to be able to do the "paper clip trick." Thanks guys?

No paper clip trick on the new ones. Gonna have to get it scanned. If you have an AutoZone near you, swing by. They usually scan them for free.

You can buy an OBD-II code scanner for $50. Check the Harbor Freight website.

You can look up the codes online at the AutoTap website, if you are willing to sign up for their e-mail tech bulletins.

The "poor mans" way is to take your car into a parts store, like AutoZone stated above. These places will check your error codes for free.
