Post Will a bigblock fit a 78?

My old man has a 427 in his work truck and well its got a rod knocking, so I want to rebuild it and throw it in a 2nd gen, will it fit, do I need new engine mounts?

The 427 has a rock crusher tranny on it and well i hate to see it go to waste, it will be a nice combo with a 100 shot of juice, lets just say it would fly if it will fit. I can get a rebuild kit for around $550.

Let me know if you have done it I want pics?

"your dad's work truck".. if it's anything bigger than a 1 ton dually, then that is the tall deck 427, and you will have hell fitting it in there, and also finding parts..
If it's a run of the mill big block, just make sure you have the correct big block mounts, or you won't be able to close the hood!
