unleaded fuel
I just read in a web that the GM engines, from '71- up must work with unlead fuel link , Is this right? I never ear nothing about this, and I put in my Camaro 97 oct. fuel, more expensive than the unlead (remember that in Europe the fuel is about $4 per galon).
Do anybody know any about this?
Fran.

Re: unleaded fuel
Yes, your motor will run fine with uleaded fuel. They made the switch from leaded to un-leaded in the early seventies. If you do run leaded fuel in your car, and if it has catalytic converters, you'll ruin them by running the stuff. I'd just get the highest octane, unleaded gas that you can.
Re: unleaded fuel
Reading the link (if you can read spanish), it seems to say that unleaded is mandatory in 71 up engines. It is not Fran. You can run leaded if you want to.
As said above, you aren't supposed to run it in your vehicle if it has catalytic converters. But that has nothing to do with the engine actually being able to use leaded gas; it can, no problem.

Perhaps I had read this for unleaded fuel previously but I did not learn to I can use it because that I had said I don't speak English very well.
