Trouble with leaky 2ndary on holley 750

so i'm tearing this 454 down for a guy, changing the cam etc etc. and i notice gas on the outside of the intake... it has the same slop in the shaft as all the other holleys i have laying around. i try not to worry about it until i pull the intake and on the back two cyl of the drivers side bank theres a puddle of gas sitting in each one. so i guess my question for you carb guys is what could make a holley leak fuel out of the secondaries while the car is off... it does it slightly while on but then while its off it leaks down and its hard to start after sitting... i mean no wonder with the puddle of gas sitting on the valve. i was thinking the fuel pressure might be set way to high or something. i mean thats all i can think of but it seems to do it especially on one side (dual plane intake). I'm open for any ideas... i have to tune this sucker after i get it back together.

Sounds like the rear float level is set too high. If it is dblpmpr, it might also be missing the little needle/check valve in the accel pump hole. That gets lost on rebuilds fairly regularly...

i was thinking it may be a combo between the rear float being too high and the fuel pressure being slightly high as well. its a vac secondary, and it shouldnt be missing anything since its basicly new and only had about 3 or 4 hours of run time.

Since it's a new install, might want to check for dirt in the inlet needle.

If the needle is staying open along with pressure in the fuel tank ..........it might cause that as well

that would be my guess either needle plugged or float set too high if it was fuel pressure it would do it to the primaries as well.
