Serpentine belt question for
I have a 94' LT1 out of a Camaro. I just installed an accesory bracket kit from Street and Performance. The setup orignally is from a Corvette. (The bracket that places the compressor, alternator, and the power steering pump on the driver's side.) This is in order for it to fit in my 69' Camaro engine bay. My question is if anyone knows what belt size I need to pick up. Also, if its not to difficult to describe, how does it loop through the pullies. I also noticed that this covers the place where my secondary air pump used to mount. Do I need this pump? If so, where does it go now? Help please!
Belts are sold in inches and its not hard for a auto parts shop to figure out what you need. As far as routing, if the pulley is smooth its for the back side of the belt and of course if it is grooved it is for the grooved side. What I did was run a piece of string over the pulleys, taping them to each pully. My buddy wrenched the tensioner and I marked the string to get the length.
Boz - you might want to check the alignment of the belt. I think
the dampers might be different lengths from a Camaro to a Vette???
A good place to start on a belt would be to look up what fits the car you got the brackets from as long as you kept all of the belt driven acc. You can go up or down from there as nessacary.

I got a spacer from Street and Performance to bring the harmonic balancer out to the correct spot. I'll try the string idea, hopefully the guys at the parts store won't mind me coming back a couple of times. Thanks for the help.
Thanks Tony.
Thanks Tony.
