seatbelts in a 1st gen.

i have a 68 and it doesnt have a seatbelt for the passenger seat and it only has a lap-belt on the drivers side. the back seats have lap-belts too. i know i wouldnt need seatbelts legaly, but i just dont want to die or kill anyone that happens to be in the car.

how would someone put seatbelts in? i could also go to a racing harness. but if i did that would i need aftermarket seats too?

just trying to stay safe.

Some first gen Camaros had an optional shoulder belts that fastened to the roof just behind the front seats. If you want to go retro, adding them might be an option. (Yes you still have the lap belts so that means two sets of belts at one time.)

My 67 RS only has the lap belts. Heck if you're worried about that not being enough protection... you also don't have air bags either.

lol. ya i know there is no airbags. but there is no airbag in an indy car either. i also know that they have racing harnesses tho, but thats why i asked about a harness too.

what would have to be done to put a 4 or 5 point racing harness in?

Unless you have a roll cage (there are options for this as well) you can buy a multi point harness that bolts to the floor from any of the speed shops in your area or a cheaper solution is to call either Summit or Jegs for a catalogue (or go online) and look through their selection. They are adaptable to just about any car. Your 68' actually came from the factory with at least lap belts all the way around and you can get original style or after market belts to replace what you have currently.
