DO NOT confuse RWHP with BHP !!!!

I was talking about BHP or flywheel HP..the other guy said 400 hp at the rear wheels....you have to take into consideration 15-22% loss of power when it goes thru the driveline....

And racing a car that weighs over 3800 lbs like mine is tough when compared to a lighter car like that 3100 lb camaro !!! Less weight = FREE HP. ,---SOOO true !

Re: quick Q : power for 10's lol

i looked it up and they all say my car is 3100 pounds
with my firberblass hood/fenders/inner fenders i shoud be at liek 3000

when i was a kid i always htough muscle cars fromt he 60-70 where WAY heavier

so if i can get over 450hp TO TEH WHEELS and decent traction i shoudl break 10's

The car was dynoed at Xotic Motorsports in Pa. at the beginning of last season. We were more interested in where it made power, and how the new Predator carburetor was going to work. It went 10.83 the first time out last season. The last pass on the car at the end of the season was a 10.85 @ 125 MPH. The car actually belongs to my cousin. He weighs 322#...I weigh 195#. Iv'e been 10.83, he's been 10.90. The car weighs 2900#, and is all steel (except the hood) with a 10 point cage.
It was dynoed through a 9.5" 4500 stall converter, manual valve body TH350, 12 bolt with 4.88's, and 30" tall Et Drags.

I built the motor in a "borrowed" garage with a Speed-O-Motive rotating assembly. 4.155" bore, 3.56" stroke, 6.125" long rods. Stock Dart 230CC heads with 2.08"-1.60" valves, Edelbrock Super Victor intake, Predator carb, .646" lift (with 1.6 rockers) solid roller. The motor has well over 100 runs on it, and so far we've only had to adjust the valves, and swap carburetors. After seeing the difference in the car with the Predator, I can assure you this car will never have a Holley back on it. We tried 3 different Holleys last season...with adjustment after adjustment. (2) 950's and (1) 750. After bolting on the Predator and making (1) adjustment, it ran the 10.83.

You live "right next door"...LOL. We race at Cecil County Dragway.

Check out this link....it should help you estimate your power reqs.

I punched some #s and well here ya go...

3150 lb car running 10.90 needs 567 ENGINE HP or 481 RW HP.

3800 lb car running 10.90 needs 684 ENGINE HP or 580 RW HP.

These #s also show the meaning of FREE HP....
