Power Window Problems

I just have just installed a power window kit in my 1980 Camaro, everything works fine when all of the bolts on the door a loosened (the 7 on top, just inside the window) But when i tighten all of them back up and return the pads to their original position, it works but bogs horribly starting and then completely stops about midway then i have to assist it by pulling up on the window by hand. Iv'e tried greesing the tracks and even realigning the tracks to try and illiminate the bind. The circuit i'm sure is fine its on a 30 amp circuit directly from the fuse block instead of using the inline fuse provided in the kit.

Re: Power Window Problems

Your going to have to be more systematic in your approach to this. Loosen all the nuts and bolts and start by tightening them a little at a time until you start to notice drag. Once you've found out where you can start looking at why. May be as simple as just shimming the tracks. Make sure the anti-rattle brackets are loose, (the ones at the top with the felt on them) while you do the ajustments.

P.S. Remember the "X". If you move the bottom left out the top right come in. To move the top in or out when UP move both the bottom adjusters in and out or a combo of all four. Make small adjustments, one at a time.
