Hello everyone, I have a 1980 Camaro, and want to convert to a Posi Differential but i do not know which to buy to best fit my application. Thanx in advance to any help.

what gears are in it now? what will the car be used for? Are there any other mods to the motor/trans? If you are bone stock and looking for a little more go, then I would say no more than 3.23 with the TH350.

Im thinking about throwin in a pretty big cam... not sure about what yet... I have no idea what the gears are now... but its a a 1980 Base Coupe, with a Goodwrench 350 Crate Engine, I dont know if the rearend was upgraded for the new engine.

Most likely it is an open 2.73 set. You would be good going with an Auburn posi or Eaton or whoever you choose and go with 3.23's. Make sure you get the cam to match with the torque convertor and the gears. And yes this will make a difference. A good cam company will ask you many questions before recommending a cam. Don't just go buy a huge lift cam becase it's advertised to make gobs of power. Engines are a system that are supposed to work with each other.
