Opinion of this car?

Hello, does this sound like a good car:

http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...525876921&rd=1

I am mainly wondering about the work he has done in the engine and the specs he has listed. Would these up the power on the engine significantly as I have heard that Camaros in the late 70's did not have much power stock?

I live close to the town this car is listed in, and I will definately check it out if it seems good, I just am wondering if the engine would be putting out much mainly? As well with a 2500 rpm stall would this car be streetable?

Sorry for the stupid questions but I am a car newb, I really only know how to change oil and thats about it hopefully that'll change soon though

Re: Opinion of this car?

the 2500 stall is verry streetable I would ask if the pistons are cast or forged, does it run on pump gas and what casting # the heads are but even with a crapy set of heads that car should run good and it is clean for the model it is. I would be interested if the price stay's below 3,000 it seems like a well sorted out car though. IMO

Niiice DOORPULLS Other than that looks like a decent car for the money if it stays reasonably cheap.

Hi, thanks for the help.

I have one more question, I don't really like that hoodscoop, how much would it cost to get a new hood for that car?

Hey I actullay own that exact model, however my car is stock as of now, 305, and everything, the car looks in good shape, however when you go there check rust under the wheel wells and floor boards, and trunk. Lift up the rug and check for ny rust. Take it first hand if your starting out, rust is your worst enemy. But other then that its a good buy, do not offer anything over 3,000 to 4,000 Good luck.

As far as value goes, it doesn't look like a Z28 or anythig special so I guess most of the value will be in the drivetrain. Not $7k that's for sure

I would also check the rear frame rails that go up over the rear axle,, they can look like they are fine but can be soft,,, give them a knocking with a hammer or something.

WOW, I can't believe someone spent $7k on that car. I have seen much nicer cars for $5k, w/ a BB and a 4-speed. Someone is crazy!!! It would be a decent car for $25-$3000, but I would never pay more than that. Heck my old 79 was just as nice, and had a better interior and valvetrain....I was only trying to sell it for $3000.....then someone stripped it.

It needs a chain steering wheel to complete the 70's disco look.

A little pricey and it could use some meatier tires and wheels in back. What are those... 14's?
