lot of HP with monoleaf springs?

I'm fixing to build my 350. It will make between 400 and 425 hp. Is this to much power for a turbo 350 trans, 10 bolt rear, and monoleaf springs? What would be the max. hp you would want to put to that set-up? It will not be racing it, just street but i have a hard time keeping my foot off the floor board...

Thanks,
Chad

I have mono leafs on my 68 and make well over 580 hp.

The setup you have will work fine.

If your mono-leafs are like mine they're more "swayed" down than up. If you have fresh springs it'll get a little bit more traction. Mine squats alot and wheel hops with the old springs so when I get my ZZ502 I'm going with multi-leafs and traction bars.

The ten bolt will be okay, but the small 350 tranny will take a beating if you like to play with the gas. A good used TH400 shouldn't be that hard to find.

A properly built TH350 will handle that hp with no problems. I am running a TH350 in my 79 and I have not had to have it rebuilt in nearly 4 years. And most of that is dragstrip abuse.

I have a poly bushing kit and a set of ladder bars on my car and I can barely get it to squat down on those rear tires anymore. No hop or anything, it just takes off like bat out of hell. I'm only pushing in the low 300 range of HP though.

Definately need traction bars with the mono-leaf.
