Last few things before starting.....

I got my engine in
http://www.knology.net/~poison/Firebird.htm

I need some advice on a few things, I still need a

1) Fuel Pump (electric or manual?)
2) Water Pump (manual)
3) Ignition (i have new HEI, but want a box)
4) Pulley setup for p/s,alt,water
5) Radiator/Fan combo, (electric?)

That should do it. I want to not send a lot, but get some descent parts.

Also, with an electric Holley "Blue" series pump, do you HAVE to get a pressure regulator to go along with it? Thanks for the suggestions, I will have it on tape starting her for the forst time

He is right on the Holley Blue pump. They will flow 14psi unregulated. If you buy the pump new it will come with a regulator.

As far as water pumps...weiand,moroso,edelbrock.... they all make a light weight aluminum pump.

I believe you can run your HEI with a MSD box... I currently run a 6al with a MSD billet.. works perfect.

March makes a NICE deep groove pulley setup for the small block. You could also go to a serp single belt setup.
The old ones off your 305 would work.

I have read that the dual fan setup out of a 90's 3.8 Ford taurus works well in the 2nd gen GMs so that might be a cheap electric fan setup. You could also check the salvage yards for a LT1/LS1 setup. You could also run a flex fan but they hog power(im still running one)

Good Luck

EDIT..... if your not apposed to buying off the net check EBAY for your speed parts. You can usually find some killer deals.

The aluminum rad out of a third gen is a direct swap into second gen's, so you might want to look for one of those.

For an ignition box look at a mallory. They're digital where as MSD 6AL is analog and their rev limiter doesn't require PRM pills. They're less expensive also. I've been seeing Jabos ignitions going pretty cheap on ebay lately too.
