Question Ind. Suspension in a 1st Gen?

I'm in the process of planning my next project car based on a 1st gen Camaro and I've been toying with the idea of placing a modern independant suspension in the back half of the car. Has anyone actually attempted this before, or do you know of someone who has?

My plan is to make this car low and zoomy... 4-wheel discs, etc... would this work or should I stick with simpler multi-leaf set-up?

I'm still in the planning stages so I've got plenty of time to think this out.

Thanks.

Wayne Due offers a kit to bolt in a late model Vette suspension in the rear. I have his front Vette subframe on my 69 and the quality is top-notch.

His website is here:

There is a 68 here in Sweden that has a Jaguar IRS, you know the kind that many Hot Rods use. It was done by the former owner of my Camaro. This guy ran it on the strip too.

It can be seen here:

The more modern Corvette applications are of course better, but I think the Jag could be less expensive.

That's a little more than I was thinking I could achieve in my garage. Cool as hell though.
