i have a 69 and 97.... what will fit?

i'm parting out a 97 and was wondering if anything would be a easy/ good upgrade? how hard would the disc brake install be? or installing suspension parts from the front end?

Ummmmm. How about an LT1 upgrade in the 69? Might want to try protouring.com about the brake upgrade. There are a lot of people there that also use the consoles, dash....

Wait, 4th gen parts fit in a 1st gen?! I'm so sending my wife out of town for a week. She'll come back like, "Frankie, have you seen my Trans-Am?"

Depending on how the colors work out, the seats might be a nice upgrade.

Depending on the engine in his 69, the 97 LT1 might be a downgrade.

302 or LT1???? If it is an orginal 302 car, I have to ask why mess with it at all.

Re: i have a 69 and 97.... what will fit?

I'm in the same boat...69 with a 97 donor. I'm planning to use the LT1/T56 and front and rear brakes. I think you have to use two left side calipers for the rear, so I'll have to buy a caliper.

My 69 is a 307 car, so the LT1 is a definite upgrade. If it were an original Z28 with a 302, I'd have to stay 100% original. My love for Camaros wouldn't allow me to do otherwise. Either way, it makes for a fun project!

Re: i have a 69 and 97.... what will fit?

My car is an original '69 DZ 302 4-speed, but it's not an "original" car. We have a custom paint job, custom interior, aftermarket rims, and a bunch of uprgade goodies. The previous owner had taken good care of it and had already done alot of the work, so there's not turning back now, and I wouldnt anyway, I dont like the look of the rally wheel'd origianl camaro's. I like a set of 5-stars, lowered, and some thump.

Did i forget to mention factory airconditioning? - less than 500 with the air/302/4-speed combo.
