How do i swap a 229 for a 305?

I am not good at mechanics, but i am learning, so if somone could give some basic ionformation as to how i can swap my 229 v-6 for a 305 in my 1981 camaro, i would apreciate it. Any tips or "how-to" information would be great. thanks.

Although this isnt really the info your looking for, dont swap in a 305, you will regret it hardcore. If your gonna do a small block swap at leasat go with a 350

i know i should get a 350, but i already have the 305, and the camaro is my only "legal" vehicle that i have the parts to fix. I will eventually get a 350, but they are hard to come by up here unless you pay an arm and a leg

i think all youll need to do is move the motor mounts forward to the next set of holes. and you might need a new transmission but im not to sure seeing how i try to stay away from the newer 2nd gens but i thought they didnt use V6's untill 82. i think they used the inline 6's but aint to sure but if its the i6 then you wont need a new transmission.
