How do I remove the ignition switch?

I can't seem to get my damn ignition switch out of the dash on my '67 and I'm pretty sure it's burnt out. I put the key all the way left into ACC position like the manual says, and then I take a little 1.5mm allen key and stick it in the little hole. I can feel the plunger depress, but I can't turn the key left anymore. Is there some kind of trick that I'm missing or is this thing stuck forever?

To my knowledge you're doing everything correct. Stick the key in and turn to ACC. Push in the lock with the small allen key or a small screwdriver then pull the tumbler out of the housing with the key. Since the key is in ACC, the key itself won't come out but it should pull the tumbler out. Once the lock is pushed, you don't have to turn the key. Just pull.

Alright, I was trying to turn like the book said. I'll try to yank!
