Got my 74 Firebird

Well I was debating getting a brand new car but I chose to pass on that for a few reasons (nothing unique, they are all the same, can't take to a car show ect) and get my dream car. Very hard car to find in Canada as we recieve roughly 1/10 of total production.

For pics: http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/511904

One owner car from Simi Valley CA. flew down form Calgary AB Canada and drove it 1600 miles home. Car has a/d, pw, pdl and Am/FM 8 track!

400 CID V8, 225hp, automatic with 3.08s

Of course some areas do require some work. And I will have to modify the engine for more power cause these damn new cars have tons of power!

Oh and of course the damn whitewalls

Track times will come in the spring. Hard to guess..but it spins the tires pretty good on the 1-2 shift (45? est mph)

Re: Got my 74 Firebird

At least the body looks solid, awesome man! I want another 2nd gen damnit....

My old '78 T/A with a stock 400 went from running 16.0 stock with no shaker scoop, to 15.2@90 with headers, dual exhaust, and K&N. My car never blew tire from a stop on the street, but since tracks sucked, my car STOCK went sideways from a stop to a 16.8 on my 1st run lol. My engine blew the day I ran 15.2, and I never ran it again with my new combo. Good luck with your car!

Re: Got my 74 Firebird

So you finally went and picked it up... good stuff. Come spring we have to head down to the track...
If you need any help/parts let me know (although it looks like it's in good shape).
I got more Pontiac parts then I need... including a XE 268 Cam that has less then 1000miles on it (I swapped it out for a 274) if you want it.
Anyways dude, congrat's on the purchase...
