AN Fuel fitting sizes
Re: AN Fuel fitting sizes
Only problem being that in the real world the #6 isn't 3/8" i.d., it's closer to 5/16". I use #8 for fuel, it's slightly larger than 3/8" but in my opinion #6 is too small for a performance application.
Try to get a #6 hose pushed over a 3/8" barb some time!!!! Not much fun!

EFI or carbureted? I just wanted to point out that the 1/16th per AN number is not correct. I try to not short-cut the fuel system when building a car. Yes, #6 will work in many cases, but if this was carbed it could be an issue at that power level. EFI doesn't need as large of a feed line but I still use 1/2" hardline or #8, reducing to #6 at the rails if need be.

The AN dash number multiplied by 1/16 is correct. Except it is for the O.D. not the I.D. So a AN-6 line is the same as a 3/8 O.D. line. For carbs. up to about 900 cfm -6 lines from the fuel pressure regulator to the carb is usually recommended. With -8 to -10 feed line from the tank.
