Good deal to help your flat tappet cam live.

As a lot of you may know, newest spec oils have very little zinc ( ZDDP ) in them in order to keep from contaminating emissions equipment on newer vehicles. No problem for engines with roller cams, but for those of us with flat tappet cams, it can lead to rounded lobes.

You can use diesel spec oil or throw in an additive. I just scored several bottles of CD-2 High Performance Oil Boost at Big Lots for 1.99 a bottle. I checked it out on bitog and it is loaded with zinc:

You could also just break the cam in with Shell Rotella T.
