front clip for 68
front clip for 68
Im trying to find a complete front clip for a 68 camaro. Anyone know where I can purchase this?? Any sites online? Also im going to need light assembly. Can anyone help?
Are you looking for an aftermarket clip or an original clip?
I know of two aftermarket companies who make custom front clips for road racing, strip, etc.
But if you are looking for an original front clip - I am looking to get rid of my original clip - sandblasted and powdercoated black - including the upper and lower arms - with polyurtheane bushings pressed on and new pressed on ball joints - never reassembled, after coating. Or if you rather restore your own original clip - I know of a Camaro salvage yard that has front clips.
If want more info let me know.

well that the thing, the car has no front end at all. The car is complete up until the doors, no fenders, hood, nose. I should be getting my hands on the car in the next week or so and was just wondering what my options were
I guess it would ultimately depend upon what your intentions are with the car, i.e. daily driver, restore to stock, road race, etc. Also it would depend upon your budget limit, which I am sure you have already considered.
You basically have 3 options..
1) buy fiberglass parts, and piece together the grill and lights
2) find someone building a race car that wants to sell their steel front end
3) buy all new steel parts from the aftermarket, and bring lots of cash!
Best bet would be to start hitting all the camaro forums, especially the 1st gen sites, and start posting in the for sale and wanted sections, and cross your fingers!
Junkyards are also an option, there are quite a few that specialize in 1st gen camaros, do a search on yahoo and you'll get about 20 pages..

Thanks for the help guys. Im almost 100 percent sure that an lt1 and auto is going in it. Any help with that would be apreciated too. I guess fiberglass would be the cost effective and less of a hassle. The car is just going to be a summer fun car. Do you know where I could get quality fiberglass pieces??? What would you guys do in this situation?
