Dual 3" exhaust too much??

I have a 1981 camaro, here's a basic rundown on the motor.
350
11-1 pistons
afr 1040 65cc eliminator heads
edelbrock rpm airgap intake
demon 750 vac. sec.
comp magnum 292h 501/501 lift
1.6 rockers

I have dual 3 inch exhaust on the car, but some people are telling me it's to big for what I have. just looking for opinions

Is that motor in the 3rd gen?

It is a little on the big side, but later on down the road if you change to a bigger camshaft than you'll prob be alright. That compression is pretty high for the cam, good thing for the 1.6 rockers.

My 540 engine uses dual 4" but it's a track only car. A SBC should only need dual 2-1/2" at the most. Two 2-1/2" will flow more than a single 3" and are easier to install and route.
