cost of a 69 RS/Z28? just currious

I am jsut wondering what a nice 69/RS/Z28 would go for

nice paint
tame motor
nice interior
4spd manual

not some crazy all original car-
just a tame cool car

I am soooooooooooo temped to sell the 4th gen for a 1st gen
but if i do-
it will be NOTHING but a 69/RS at the least
i dont care if its original or whatnot
so long as it looks clean and has hideaway lights

More than double what your LT1 is worth. Mid to high 20s at the cheapest I would think.

your best bet is to find a clone if you want to save some cash. Mine had a VERY solid body, very nice paint, and an interior that rates 4 out 5. It was originally a 6 cylinder but has a 454 now. I picked it up for $7k locally.

If you don't care about numbers matching, there are a lot of restorables or baseline coupes out there that can be made to look how you want. RS Headlight coversion kits can be had for around $900. I plan on doing it to mine. I don't want the full RS kit, as I don't like all that tacked on chrome along the rockers and such.

Deals are out there, just gotta look. I missed a 68 Camaro RS all original number matching car with a 327 and a three speed that the ORIGINAL owner was selling for $4k. I missed it by 24 hours! I went to get the check, and when I came back the next day, the owners kids had gotten to them and told them the car was worth 3x the cash, so she decided not to sell to me.

A few places to check are www.collectorcartraderonline.com www.racingjunk.com www.camaros.net (go to the classified section) eBay, etc

An all original 69 RS/Z28 in restored condition is worth around $35K. Any decent 69 RS that's restored is worth at least $12-15K. So a non-original 69 RS/Z28 is still selling for around $25K. Get an RS and make it into a Z28 clone.
