chevy 355
Can anyone tell me what mods have to happen to make a 350 a 355? Is it just boring .030??? And if you have a 355 how hard is it to make it into a 383 stroker?? Also I'm having issues on what cam to use for the 355 or 383. I really dont understand all the different sizes lifts and all that other stuff involved in selecting a cam. Thanks!!

For the 383, what do I bore it, .030 or can it be .040? I seen in Summit that they make a stroker kit, its about $1100. Does that seem like a good price?

30 over leaves room for another 10 to be taken out later if needed.
Good price? Depends what's in the kit. You sound new at this so a word of advice - budget about 2X the price for the basic parts. "Little" stuff adds up quickly. Also, it is often best to have the machine shop order the parts. About 1/2 the time when the customer orders the parts something is wrong and this requires time/money to fix.
The best bang for buck is to re-use your stock crank and rods if they are in good shape - go 30 over on the new pistons to make a 355 and put the money you save on the bottom end into the top and valvetrain, which is where the power is.
