Car is BOUNCY after new leaf springs and shocks
Car is BOUNCY after new leaf springs and shocks
Just installed new leaf springs and shocks on a 1967 camaro and it is very bouncy. When I went to put the shocks on they seemed pretty short and I had to have someone bounce on the rear so I could get the bolts in. Is this my problem or do leaf springs take a while to wear in??
I ordered the springs from classic industries, and they have four leafs in them. Thanks in advance!

If your shocks wouldn't bolt in with the suspension loaded they are too short.
If you continue to run shocks that are too short you will pull the mounts out of the sheetmetal. You may have shocks for a mono-leaf car.

I had to put extensions on my 70, even the Monroe correct part numbered shocks were too short for some reason. I guess it's one size fits a bunch of cars, almost. Been on there 15 years or so with no problems. Definately don't drive it with the shocks as they are though.

I bought a set from Competition Engineering... works great, correct length, and adjustable!!
And i agree, dont drive with wrong shocks, bad bad bad news.
