Headers - 67with A/C

Hey Guys,

Has anyone out there put headers on a 67 camaro with A/C?

I want to know what brackets, mods, etc are required for the compressor as it usually mounts onto the standard exhaust manifold.

I have noticed aswell now that I'm putting the car back together that there is not a great deal of room between the exhaust and the aircon box - will exhaust heat be a problem?

Thanks (there are pics of the car on another thread - carby question)

None of my 67 Camaros have AC. (You lucky dog.) Check out http://www.vintageair.com I'm sure there's a workaround.

Re: Headers - 67with A/C

can always have em custom fabbed... i'd check out flowtech, hooker, hedman etc. and call or email the tech lines, they'll let ya know what to buy

EDIT: thicker gauge pipes and ceramic coatings keep heat in, cheap out and heat will be a general problem in the entire engine bay.... trust me, i know. but A/C generally is warm anyway, just the cycling and compression cools the refrigerant, so it depends on which part of the system it is, but you could use a starter heat shield, they're similar in size, if you're really worried about it.
