Sounds like an electrical short then. As long as the housing isn't deformed then any autopart store will carry the sockets. Shouldn't be that expensive either.

Its just you and I talking here!

You've been a huge help in all my repairs and I appreciate it. I hope others will benefit too.

The metal sleeve in the housing is all deformed. Probably not getting a good contact.

Wife picked up a new one from Pep Boys for $4.99.


Thanks for helping me think this through.


I am actually selling the car. I am moving on - picking up a 91 LX convertible and then likely buying something reliable like a Prius or something like that. Then later this year, pick up another 1st Gen Camaro.

I will be back if I ever get around to leaving.

I might know someone in southern California that is interested in buying. He was looking for a 69 SS, but perhaps he would be interested in a 68 SS Clone.
