Bought the 67 Camaro i showed you before, what gas should i use?

I had you guys review a 67 camaro for me a couple weeks ago.
Most of you said not to pay more than 10k for it but i paid 11k and i am very happy with it.

This car has a 327 with a 4brl carb and headers on it. I was wondering what grade fuel and oil types are best for these motors. I have almost no experience with classic cars.

What do you guys use to keep you cars running well?

i dont know any answers to your questions, but congrats on buying the car!
dont worry, even if you paid 11k i'm sure the satisfaction of having it will make up for that extra grand you threw down

I use 93 octane in all my old cars. Also every once and a while I will run a 50/50 mix of 93 and race fuel. As far as oil goes I use 20w50 for higher mileage engines.....

And don't forget to use a lead additive if the heads haven't been redone.

why do they require such high octane? The standard in AZ seems to be 87,89,91. I have been using 91 and the car seems to run fine.

Then run 91. As for me, I'm running Union76 92 in my 67.

sheeze...I run 87 in mine and it runs fine. I've got a 1999 350 crate and it'd run off garbage if you could get it in the carb. Maybe since it's 35 years old you should run 91/92 then.

You need to find out more information on the 327 in your car. Is it original, is it the 210hp or 275hp version? The 210 hp version doesn't need more than 87 or 89 octane to run fine. The 275 hp version is higher compression so you would want to run 91 if possible.

Really? Thanks. I'll try 87 next time and see how it runs.

I think the 210hp 327 may have been a two barrel carb. You definitely need to find out if the engine is all original, mainly to see if it has hardened valve seats (for unleaded gas).
