Battery Issue

69 camaro with a 454

The battery is in the back

the car starts fine and idles fine, when you rev the lights and gauges get brighter.

the other day I took a ride and I noticed the gauges got very dim and the battery finally died.

Charged it back up and seems to be working but doing the same thing, light only get brighter when you rev the car.

I did find a split in the line that goes to the alternator but everything seems like it was split correctly.

I'm not sure if its the way the guy wired the car up or if the alternator might be on its way out...

any help would be appreciated

Rich

It sounds like a weak alternator or the wrong pulley on the front of it.

The amp rating of the alt. is also important. Might want to increase this if it's, say a 75amp alt.
