Anyone running TT IIs on a first gen?

I read somewhere where 17x8 Torque Thrust II's with 4-3/4" backspacing and 245/45's will fit on all four corners with the stock ride height.

What other sizes are you folks using?

i am running tt II's on my coupe, except they are 16x8 with 4 1/2" backspacing. i came across a deal on the tires so right now i am only using 225-60-16. when these wear out i plan on using 245-50's.

Crap they aren't cheap. I just got a quote for polished 17x8's, chevy bow-tie caps, lugs & locks and 245/45 ZR Bridgestone Daytonas... $1900 and change.

The 17x8 with 4.75 BS will fit on all 4 corners, but I'd suggest running 17x9.5 in the rear. Although you won't be able to rotate tires, and that might be a consideration.

Crap, now I read on another website where there is enough of a difference between the 67s and 69s that some modifications will need to be made.

This is for my kid's new project 67 which has a stock suspension. He wants 17s, and I'm trying to talk him into 16s. (Although I have to admit the 17s do look cool. )

I know 16x8 245/50s w/ 4-1/2" backspacing will work. But I'd like to be able to squeeze the 17s in without modifying anything.

If anyone hears of 17s on 67s (I'm assuming 68s might ride slightly different because of the staggered shocks), please let me know.

Thanks.

I'd prefer the 17's over 16's. If you ever want to upgrade to bigger brakes, the 16's will limit your choices. Just food for thought. (And I'm biased, LOL)

Thanks kacy, that helps. I guess I need to stop trying to keep this project low buck and rebuild the suspension while I'm at it. Anything should be a vast improvement over the 14x5 ralleys that are on it now.
