Just got an 8100 big block. No ecu or anything. I want to leave it fuel injected and DIS. What will work?

no one seems to know a whole lot about those yet. i had come across one that i had and it was way to hard to find any parts for it. especially since i needed the wiring harness and fuel system. the problem i learned with those are that the oil pan is so deep because of how much they have been stroked that major modifications to a front k member would have to be done to fit into anything. i would of liked to fit it in the chevelle but at the time didnt have the funds or time available.

 

Yeah,I understand about the hard to find parts part. I have intentions of putting it in my 86 Silverad. I have it lifted 6" w/35" tires. What better for moving big tires than a big inch engine. Plus there is the greatness of starting it on a cold morning and walking away. Anyway. F.A.S.T says they can hook me up.

 

a silverado might work. maybe look at the difference between a new 5.3 silverado and one that has a 8.1 in it and see if they changed the crossmember for them to fit. i just realized how horible the gas mileage is. a buddy got an 8.1 in his silverado and he gets like 8-10 miles to the gallon.

 

Actually My Silverado is a 86 model. I wonder if there will be any issues with that year?
