No I didn't. I specialize in second Generation F-body's. I said a 400 could be a big block if it was a 396 bored .030 over while retaining the stock stroke.

One of my friends has a 79 Z28 TH350 3.42's with Edelbroch 600 cfm carb, performer intake, 3" K@N, Flotech Tri Flow headers running back to true duals with turbo mufflers and no cats or smog pump. The engine is stock. He never made it to the track before he pulled the motor, but considering that was a smog 350, it was fast, definitely well below 15's in the 1/4 judging SOTP. He now has a built 4 bolt 350 out of a 84 3/4 ton truck backed by a Hughes TH400.

I have a corprate Small block in my `98, It belongs there. I disagree with people that put Small and Big block Chevy's in Pontiacs. Contrary to popular belief You can build a very Fun and Fast Pontiac engine without spending a fortune.

Absolutely, just pick up a Jegs or Summit catalogue and see the prices there are for performance rebuild kits and like for Poncho motors. The hardest part is finding one, but with a large junkyard it won't be. There's one near me that's literally hundreds of acres. I went there to get a rim for my Jeep (the honey comb look-a-likes). They had ones for 3 different prices according to condition . I'll bet there just might be an old 427 laying around out there as well. Ya just never know sometimes.

I higly doubt that. I had a tough time finding parts for my Buick rebuild, and I'm betting that Olds parts are even fewer and far between. There's probably more parts available for the SBC than for all other motors combined. Well, I guess you could leave the Ford 5.0 out of that.

Where did you get this from? The last V8 Olds made was the 307 and that was nothing of a performance oriented engine. It's been at least 15+ years since Olds still made any V8's.

they just sit there olds engines in junkyards just sit there becuase most people go for parts for chevys and there are performance parts that you can buy for them that cost you less than parts for a chevy block such as intakes

I'd be willing to bet that there are way more Chevy's that have been built then Olds. I can walk into several junkyard here and see around 50 chevy small blocks sitting there waiting to be purchased. I'd probably be hard-pressed to find even one olds motor in the whole place. This is a stupid argument anyways. You're wrong, end of story.
