Question Reliable Chevy torque converter for T-350?

Posting this for a friend:

I am looking for a Torque converter that will stand the test of time on my T-350. I have a 67 Camaro and hve heard too many opinons on which TC is best. Some peole say Turbo Action are the best, others say B&M etc. Can some one who has had a TC for more than a few months give me some advise?

A good converter can be had right in your area! Emerald is in the bay area and makes very good converters for either street/strip or all out racing. Coan as listed above is a top notch company as well as is ATI, Hughes, PTC etc etc. Unless you are bracket racing or running a 10.90,9.90 door car on a stop I dont imagine they would be worth your money for what you will get out of them. Torco Converters is another option you can look at, they are a primary manufacturer of the internal components of the big three's converters unlike any of the other converters you will find. In fact, a base converter is only around $200 compared to 600-800 from others. If your not gonna use a converter designed to harness 600+ foot pounds of torque (be realistic) in a super consistent ( +- .01 secs) then why pay for it?

Is there anyone out there that has had a TC for a number of years that is still going strong? I've heard what brands give out good performance, but as fun as pulling an engine or dropping out a tranny sounds... I will avoid the task as much as possible.
