454 Big Block for sale

Hey guys,

I have a 454cid big block for sale. It has about 5000 miles on it. I will deliver to central Florida for free. The reason I’m selling it is because I took it out of my Camaro about two years ago because I wanted to put the small block back in for road course racing. I was going to find a 70’s Trans Am or Camaro to put it in, but one thing led to another and now I’m into bikes and boats so it’s just in the way now. It was a strong running motor and had no known problems when I removed it. I ran synthetic oil after a 500 mile break in.

Engine:
Short Block:
1998 Gen VI Big Block (block from Vortec 7400)
4-bolt mains bearings
Single piece rear main seal (but has adapter for two piece cranks)
Hydraulic Roller camshaft (GM ZZ502)
Scat series 9000 Crankshaft with rolled fillets, 4” stroke
Scat forged rods with locating dowels and screws (rather than nuts and bolts)
Speedpro 4.25" full floating forged pistons (CR = 9.5:1 for street gas)
Clevite-77 bearings clearanced to 0.003” for the mains and 0.002” for the rods.
Balanced to 8000 RPM
Single Roller timing chain
Moroso Electric water pump

This engine has no mechanical fuel pump boss so an electric one is required (which I am including a Holley Red 7psi electric pump for a carburetor.

Heads & Induction:
Edelbrock 6045 Performer RPM aluminum heads with “Rectoval” ports
-2.19” intake and 1.88” exhaust swirl polished valves
Summit 1.7:1 full roller rockers
Performer RPM dual plane aluminum intake port matched to heads

Ignition:
Mallory Unilite distributor
SpiroPro wires
MSD coil

Engine has ~500HP and ~500ftlbs of torque
I will include a Edelbrock Performer RPM 750 cfm Carburetor with the motor, or for $300 extra I will keep the edelbrock carb and include a Speed Demon 750 double pumper.

Asking $4500 for it, and WILL NOT ship. You can come pick it up or I can deliver to Central Florida for free, or a little farther for additional fuel costs.

I posted it there also, but since the majority of people there are into late model stuff I figured since it was more a classic car thing, and to give the guys with the classic cars a chance to look at it before it disappeared off the screen, I would post it here. As well, due to the number of posts in recent days, it didn't appear to me that this forum was in fear of being overloaded.
