Hunk of Junk.

I'm looking for a 4th Gen Camaro* that looks terrible, in good-great condition.
Body damage. Mis-matched panels, scratches - I want them!
(No bent frames, minimal rust, and a solid engine/trans.)

I don't even care if your interior was ripped apart by your dog.
The worse it looks, and the cheaper the price the better!

I'm looking to only spend $2500-3000 (less is more) and I know there may be people laughing about this, so flame on. I don't mind.

I'm not interested in engine mods, or appearance enhancements, as I plan to do all of this myself. I would like an LS1 engine, but I'm sure in this price range, that's not likely to happen. LT1's will suffice.

If you've got a huge piece of trash, that runs really well, let me know!
I'd looooove to take it off your hands. I'm located in "Detroit" Michigan, and I would consider driving to pick it up. As long as you're not too far. Any more information needed? Just ask!

-Chris

*Would consider a Trans Am, but really prefer a Camaro. Especially those late model ones with the newer headlights (97 and up??)

Re: Hunk of Junk.

127,xxx miles
M6
T Tops
Dark Green
Gray cloth
Transplanted 50k mile Lt1
New Clutch
New fuel pump
New PS Pump
New coolant reservoir
New radiator
New water pump
New AC system front to back
New console
new dashpad
new windshield
new shocks (deCarbons - oh well)
New Eagle F1 DS3's - less than 1k miles
New radio speakers
Newer T-tops --some small scuffs
Upgraded 150mph cluster
various replacement interior trim
power driver seat

Clear title
No engine/driveline mods

the not so good:

Paint is awful - scratched front to back by previous owner's dog.

2-3 small dents by radio antenna

Nose is split on passenger's side 2-3" and looks to be a different color. I see no additonal evidence of a front end collision and I have been all over this car

Rear hatch glass is scratched and I priced a replacement @ $228

Driver side splash guard - by headlight well is broken and not attached by all conectors. It had been cut out to allow more air flow ( I guess) I replaced the splashguard but some of the attachment points on the lower fender are gone.

2 holes in rear hatch that looks like the previous owner had a wing mounted.

Very loud, poorly done catback -- is serviceable but needs to be replaced -ASAP

AM/FM works-CD does not. I would replace the head unit

Windows work -- but slowly
Has '97 tailights - pass side is slightly cracked
Starter does not always engage on first try

Also had underbody neons ( removed)
Manual fan switch (removed)

Various other white trash crap (removed)

All major mechanical work was done by GM certified tech. Almost $6k in the car and I know I will never get that out of it. I have been debating getting the car painted and just can't see making that investment. It is a good, strong driver and needs someone to sort it out.

$4800 - I'll trailer it part way to meet you or deliver it in an enclosed trailer for a fee -

I'm actually quite interested...
How fast are you looking to sell this?
I may need to wait for my tax refund to decide what I want to do.

Re: Hunk of Junk.

Perhaps this may open some more people towards offering their vehicles.

Located in Michigan. NO INSPECTION REQUIRED!
If your car is "illegal" for road use, and you can't figure out how to sell it, post up! Here in Detroit, if it is capable of rolling down the street - and you have insurance on it, you're good to go!

Thanks for the interest. I am not in a financial bind in any fashion so this is not a 'fire sale' The cars sell when they sell. Sometimes, like now with 5 f bods, I just gotta thin the stable a little bit.

Thanks

Re: Hunk of Junk.

What are you looking for exactly? I have a 95 that looks pretty good, runs ok, but needs work. It's 3.4 v6/auto car.
The motor ticks pretty loud once it warms up (probably a lifter) but runs/drives perfect.
The tranny shifts good. (just replaced shifter cable)
The drivers seat is ripped pretty bad (normal spot for camaros).
The console lid is broken (again, typical for camaros)
The windshield has a crack in it.
Has a small dent in passenger side just behind the door.
Needs ABS sensor on right front wheel (ABS light on, $50, just never replaced it yet)

Here are some pictures of the car: http://www.bright.net/~commagic/95.htm Since these were taken, I've put stock tailights back into it (like them better than the ones in the picture).
New top dash piece
Clear corner lights on front
Grill (starting to rust a little though)
Tinted windows

If interested, I would keep the hood, wheels/tires, radio/speakers and take $2750 for the car. I can get more pictures on request if you'd like to see them.

UPDATE: The car now has a Texas Rumbler catback, installed by a muffler shop and it does SOUND SWEET.
