89 Firebird Formula LT1 383 Drag Car for sale
For sale 1989 Pontiac Firebird Formula Drag Racing Car. This car is ready for the track. It runs and drives and has been raced at Carlsbad before it closed and alot at Qualcom Stadium. It ran 11.01 @ 126.22 the last time I raced it at Carlsbad with and LT1 motor with hot cam on nitrous. The day I ran that time I also had a nitrous backfire and blew 2 pistons. It also ran 7.5's pretty consistantly at the Q on nitrous with that motor. Now it's time to hear about the new motor.
Still LT1 Based.
383 internally balanced
-4340 Forged Eagle Crank
-Eagle H-beam rods 5.7in
-SRP 11.8:1 compression forged pistons
-Hellfire rings
-Ported and polished LT1 heads flowing 269 intake and 209 on the exhaust. 2.02/1.60 3 angle valves.
-Comp Cams custom grind cam. 233/242, 113 LSA, .567/.576 lift
-Comp Cams pro comp 1.6 roller rockers, 7/16 studs with guide plates
-ARP head studs.
-Felpro high performance head gaskets.
-Canton 6 quart drag race oil pan
-Melling high volume oil pump
-58mm BBK throttle body
-Port matched heads
-TNT LT1 dual nozzle nitrous system with a 150-300hp rating
-Accel coil
-Taylor over the valve cover 8mm wires
-Meziere electric water pump with only about 2 hours of operation on it
-Cloyes double roller timing chain.
-Be Kool 4 core radiator.
-6 speed manual tranny with a spec stage 2 clutch.
-10 point roll cage
-spohn lower control arms.
-Ford 9 inch with 4.11:1 gears
--billet aluminum 3rd member
--Mark williams 33 spline axles
--custom torque arm
--Wolf Racecraft anti-sway bar(not installed yet)
-Summit Racing seat(not installed yet)
-RCI 5 point racing harness(expired)
-Weld magnum 15x3.5 front runners with 165R15's
-Hoosier 28x10.5x16 drag slicks

With the new motor(motor only) this car runs 7.7's at around 89 average right now at the Q with 1.6 60ft times. I still haven't tuned it completely so it has more in it for sure. I also haven't run the nitrous on it yet with the new motor but it should scream on the juice. The motor was built to handle whatever nitrous you can throw at it. Call me and come by and i will take you for a ride in it so you can see what it can do and how it feels. The title is clean on this car but it's a PA registration. Also the car is not registered right and won't be. The plates will stay with me. That's the way it works for PA cars. It will not pass a CA smog, EVER. I will not part this car out either because it's a running driving race car. The body isn't that great but it runs fast and straight at the strip. Serious inquires only. Thanks.
