Thumbs up 1988 IROC-Z 710hp Magazine Feature Car

This car was featured in the November 1998 issue of GM-High Tech Performance Magazine and is owned by contributing editor Chris Werner (me). It has also appeared in various tech articles since and will grace the cover of the March 2005 issue. It's impossible to list all the mods but here's the important ones:

Motor:
-1975 iron block, 406 cubic inches (400 0.030 over)
-210cc AFR "race ready" heads, CNC ported by AFR
-10.7:1 compression
-Trick Flow crank & rods
-Ross Racing Pistons
-Crane solid roller cam
-Crane rev kit
-Harland Sharp 1.5 roller rockers
-TPIS Mini-Ram intake
-BBK 58mm throttle body
-36-lb. Ford Motorsport injectors
-SLP twin filter induction system
-custom ram air system
-Griffin aluminum radiator
-ACCEL DFI tuned by Turbo People, Hastings NY
-MSD 6AL ignition w/HVC coil, NGK plugs
-NOS 150 hp nitrous oxide system, works through DFI
-Hooker Super Comp headers, Jet Hot 2000-degree coated
-twin Random Technology cats
-custom Mufflex 4-inch exhaust w/Edelbrock Victor Series muffler
-Dynoed 568 rwhp, 719 lb.-ft.
-Runs on 93 octane (motor) or 100 unleaded (nitrous)

Transmission:
-TH-400 built by Level 10
-Reverse pattern manual valve body
-9-inch Art Car torque converter (stalls to about 3000 on footbrake)
-Trans brake (never used)
-B&M trans cooler
-trans blanket

Chassis:
-Chromemoly roll bar (whole car NHRA legal to 10.00)
-custom chromemoly subframe connectors
-Spohn adjustable rod-end torque arm, Hotchkis LCAs and Panhard rod
-Moser Ford 9-inch rear with 3.50 Ford Motorsport gears
-Wolfe Racecraft adjustable sway bar
-Wilwood disc brakes all around
-Fiberglass hood (have stock one also)
-Rear mounted Optima battery in Moroso box
-Airlift air bags
-Centerline Warrior wheels (6 rims total - also have stock rare 16-inch gold IROC rims w/Eagle RSA tires)
-Hoosier slicks, also M/T ET Streets and BFG Drag Radials

Best drag strip time:
-10.03 @135 (nitrous), 1.45 60-ft
-11.03 @123 (naturally aspirated)

It's hard for me to part with this car as it was my first ever, but I must move on to other projects. Awesome street/strip machine. I'm looking for $15,000 OBO. Car is in northern NJ.

Thanks!
