Yellow Top dying on me???

Well I"ve had this optima yellow top for 3 yrs now. Lately my car has been dying out of nowhere. I replaced the connectors that go to the battery from the car thinking they were stripped but it still cuts out completely. I would pop the hood shake the battery it would work again. Is this a sign that the battery is dying. I have a small system now only 500 watts and it seems to cut out either when Im stopped and the music is playing or right before I start it.Any ideas? Im thinking of getting a new red top.Dont want to spend another $170 for a battery I dont need. The only reason I got a yellow top is in my old xtreme I used it for 2700 watt system.

I would recommend having your car's entire charging system checked out. 3 years doesn't seem like all that long for one of those batteries.

Your local GM dealer would be a good place to start.

Autozone can do it. Be sure to get someone who knows what they're doing, though. And it's free.
