hello, im new on this forum, im not real sure if this is the right section to post this in, but it said other electronics..... i bought 2 blue neons to put below my dash...they're set up to plug into the cigarette lighter, but i want to wire them permanently, but i cannot find a place in the firewall to feed wire through?? where would a hole be at?? i have a 98 camaro v6

 

first off they are gonna flame you for putting neons in your car but who cars. anyway all you have to do is tap into the cigarette power wire and wire up a fuse and a switch and your pretty much done.

 

yeah i no but i dont care its my car, now how do i splice into the cigarette ligther wiring?? srry, im not much of an electrician

 

Neons? come on now.

anyway, if you want to hardwire them, you need a toggle switch also. Just cut the lighter plug off, pull the wires apart, strip them, and put one to the power plug in your fuse box, then run that cord to the toggle switch, and connect it back with the neon.

if you arent much of an electrition, its gonna be confusing, and i wouldnt reccomend you start playin with cars wiring.

 

i know the basics, ive wired trailer lights and stuff up, but i just wasnt sure what to do in this situation

 

o yeah, i got a switch, and an inline fuse already, i have all the electrical connectors, and all that stuff, wiring too

 

What they are saying is forget going through your firewall. I assume you were gonna go to the battery. You don't need to, just tie in to the wire for the cig lighter. Then run it to the switch/fuse, then to the lights. That's it
