Where is the best place to put tweeters?

i am cursed with the 4-Speaker firebird door panels, so there isn't the space fot them, and i don't want to pay alot of money for the other door panels, so i was wondering if there was somewhere else i could put tweeters easily for better sound.

I put my Rockford Fosgate Twins in the bottom of my A pillars. There's a hole there anyways.

Tweeter placement is very subjective. Some like the "in your face" sound of tweets mounted high on the door or in the A-pillar while others prefer them low in the door close to the mid-woofer. What you need to do is get yourself some double sided tape and start sticking your tweets in different locations till you fine the place that suits your tastes best.

I am not familiar with the door panel layout in your car BUT, I just wanted to give you another idea for tweeter placement.

Here is where I put the tweets in my 96 Camaro.

The best place I've found to mount them is in the triangular sail panels behind the mirrors. The advantages of putting them there are:

1. Excellent front imaging and stereo separation.

2. They are equally far away from your ears as the stock speaker locations in the door.

3. They don't aim directly at your ears to avoid the dead spot directly in front of tweeters.

4. They don't require modification of your car at all. If you desire, you can remove the tweeter pods and return your car to stock without any sign they were ever there.

If you are interested in buying these, head over to the Electronics forum at LS1.COM and ask for SShevy.

Here are pictures of mine:

it depends on your listening style and the type of tweets that you have. when testing out the Koda tweet i found that it was best down by the mid. That is MY preference. down there it makes for a more equal distance to your ear than in the spot behind the mirror, and i found that the Koda tweet was more harsh sounding when flat mounted on the triangle behind the mirror than it was angled slightly on the door down by the mid..... basicly test it out for yourself.
