Ok, I was just wondering what an equalizer would do for my current setup. I have the alpine CDA-9811 and it has speaker delay setup built in and has a lot of customizable settings for bass and trebel. What exactly would an equalizer do for me with the stock speakers, and 2 JL 12w6s. I really just want a spectrum display.

The next question is, where would I mount it at?

 

its really completely useless for your setup and youre intorducing an extra piece that can add background noise to your system. Stick with what you got or upgrade to an Alpine with a built in EQ (some of the high end models have em).
