Question What size headunit?

Does anyone make a headunit that will completely fill the gap left by the stock CD player? I don't like the look of the filler pieces used on smaller headunits to fill that area.

Thanks

Pioneer is probably the only company that makes a DIN and a half HU worth having (although I'm not a big fan of Pioneer's equipment). Alpine used to but they no longer make them. The other companies that make them (Jensen for one) aren't worth having. Personally I'd look into a used Alpine before I would ever buy a Pioneer but that's just me.

Pioneer makes a unit that is 1.5 DIN. I used to have one in my old car. It was pretty nice but lacks a lot of the bells and whistles a higher end model would have.

I was afraid that's what you guys were going to tell me. Pioneer is the only one I've found so far and like LS1 RULZ, I'm not a big fan of Pioneer...personally I'd rather have a Kenwood unit, but that's just me.

I'm not even sure I'm going to get a new headunit yet, I'm still trying to figure out what's wrong with mine...some of the lights don't work for some reason and no one seems to know why.

Anyway...thanks for the responses.

hey you could always get the dash kit and buy a pioneer dvd player. personally if you ask me i like pioneer's dvd unit it is the best picture out there although i am not big on thier regular cdplayer head units. you can pick up a AVH-P7490DVD unit and have it installed for about $2800.00 i did it and it looks great in a camaro. and if you don't feel like spending that much cash i would also recomend the JVC el kamelion with a dash kit. its what i had before the P7490DVD and i enjoyed that unit. it mounts flush and when the unit is off you can't even tell you have a stereo and it looks really good at night plus it has 3 sets of rca's for amps. but not as good as your favorite movie.
