Very weird sub signal problem
Very weird sub signal problem
Just got done getting my Camaro back on the road, now i'm having problems with my system. as long as the car is sitting stopped, the signal to the subs is fine. Subs are putting out sound just as they are suppose to. As soon as I start moving, the sound from the subs fades to almost nothing. The highs and mids are fine, they don't fade at all. If I stop, the subs come back up and work perfectly again. I can get out and shake the RCAs all I want, the sound is still good to the subs as long as I'm not moving the car.
My setup is as follows: Clarion headunit (can't remember what model) with 3 4V preouts (front, rear, and sub), clarion electronic crossover 3-way, 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch 200.2 subs ran in mono to 2 Punch Power P12-4 1994 series subs.
The clarion crossover is new, my old one failed over the period is sat. headunit is about 3.5 years old, everything works fine on it as far as I can tell. Everything is run from the RCA preouts, which is why I don't think the problem is with the RCAs (that and I can move the RCAs myself and it doesn't induce any signal loss or fade at all). subs and amps are quite old, could be something in the amps or maybe the headunit? Just trying to get some ideas on this, its one of the weirdest issues I think I've ever come across.
