Whats a good 10inch subwoofer to get?

 

i have always ran JL Audio subs!

 

ditto that! i have one 10 JL in a stealthbox and it sounds better than my friends 2 - 12's he has!

 

JL is good...... what is your price range? How much space to you want to sacrifice?

 

Well right now i have 2 sony explods 10inch(and they really suck)so i wanna upgrade. The jl's are alittle out of my price range. I wanna try to spend $100 for both subs. What about audiobahn? are they any good.

 

Not really. Especially the cheaper ones. I would look into a pair of used JL's. Or if you want new, check out these. That's a pretty damn good buy for $110. Also, what amp do you have?

 

Although Sony xplodes are not my idea of a good woofer, I did put together a system in a truck with two and they hit alot harder than I expected. Install is everything. What kind of box and amp do you have. Are the subs dvc or svc. Before someone can recommend a sub they need to know what your amp is, Also buget and how much power you have. Some subs I like are image dynamics, JL, Diamond, MMAts, Treo, Xtant. All these companies have all levels of subs from entry level to huge monster.

 

I have a Kaption SPL10 and it pounds tight and deep in my stealth box.

Come to think of it, I don't think ANY of the above mentioned brands have authorized dealers on the net. If the no manufactuer warrenty doesn't bother you... then you're good to go. It doesn't bother me! Check Ebay for the best prices on just about everything.

I've got a Lightning Audio 10.2.4. Works great, decent SQ and SPL performance. You can look at my sig for pics and also my score on SPL competition. But my next 10" is going to be a Image Dynamics sub

 

Rockford HX2 10 inch...RFD2210. Love it in a stealthbox. loved it so much I got another one in a subthump stealthbox on the other side :P

 

I have an Image Dynamics IDQ-10 and I love it! Compared to the JL's, Orion, Alpine, Kenwood, etc... my impression is that the Image Dynamics sub is much more "musical" than the others. This sub pounds very nicely when you want it to, but without distorting the sound or overwhelming the rest of the music. It's hard to describe without listening in person... the best way to say it is that it's much more "musical", more about SQ than SPL.
